Welcome to the Harnish Law Library's Research Guide for National Security Law and the Law of War!


This guide is intended to assist Pepperdine Law faculty, staff, and students in finding relevant research materials about national security, terrorism (and anti-terrorism), and the law of war. Please note that outside users may not have access to all resources linked to this guide. All users, including those not affiliated with Pepperdine University, should feel free to contact the guide author with any questions.

The scope of this guide is necessarily broad. National security law, terrorism, and the law of war encompass a wide variety of legal issues, including but not limited to, international law, cyberspace and cybersecurity, surveillance, military law and intelligence, and the just war doctrine.

This guide is organized by type of resource: Books; Journals; Databases; Blogs & News; and Other Web Resources. Where appropriate, electronic resources are marked with an icon to denote whether the resources is a free Web source or a subscription resource that must be limited to Pepperdine users.
